Looking for some opinions on de-badging. I am thinking about removing all the badges from the trunk or the wrx logo only, but am having a hard time decided and was looking for some input. I did some quick photoshop to my trunk to get a better idea so here are some pictures. View attachment 96863 View attachment 96864

Meh... naww. I don't like debadging. I really feel like it's missing something when the badges are gone.

I would say leave them on for a little while and see how you like it.. cuz its going to be quite a bit to take them off especially if you have to put them back on.. =)

But then again i'm partial to keeping the badges on.
(mostly to help guys like me with gf's who always ask "what kind of car is that? i doesnt say on the back")

Personal preference. Which do you like better?

My car was debadged when I got it. I bought the badges and put them back on. The OE badges/stickers are expensive...

Cleaner. Explain what that means... everyone says it, but I don't like the phrase. How does the car look dirty right now with the badges on?

Naked is always best. I remove all the badges I can. :)

If your going to debadge it be carefull, It was the first time I realized the factory paint sucks...lol I've done it on prior cars with just googone and came right off, but the paint came off too on the subbie...lol so I put them back on...lol

Wow what did you do? I took my badges and adhesive off with my fingers/hands no tools required and the paint is perfect.

Dude why don't you "like the phrase?" Everybody understands what a "clean" car is other than you I guess.....

some people think altezza lights on a ford f150 with fake chrome plastic door handles look "clean". I just think it's a b.s. phrase

Firstly - I like keeping the badging intact, BUT ... I took off the word IMRPREZA on the back and left the right side only with WRX showing. I swear I did not by an Impreza - no matter what they stuck to my rear end. Otherwise, the rest of the badges look nice to me - all things I'm proud of (Subaru, AWD, WRX).

Secondly - for the 2011s, all you need is a hairdryer and 10 minutes to debadge. Heat each letter up for a minute or so and then peel off. The factory stickyfoam will let go easily. Once they are off a little GooGone takes what is left off easily.

I debaged my entire 2004 wrx. I loved the clean look. It makes it look more custom. It was actually funny when I sold it. The kid couldn't understand where all the emblems were and why I would take them off. He must have liked the clean look regardless cause he ended up still buying it.

My $0.02 - Prefer to keep the badges to help build this brand. The car has phenomenal styling and a great racing heritage, but isn't nearly as recognizable and retaining the badges will help build the brand. The more successful Subaru is with the brand, the more engineering hours they will invest in it. The demise of the EVO should demonstrate that the WRX isn't immune to being cancelled. I don't mind promoting it, and allowing the car to wear its badges with pride.

First thing comes to my mind with debadging is a Honda Civic trying to be something it is not.

WRX is not a brand. It's a model. Also...the Subaru stars kind of give it away...just sayin.

As said, personal preference. I completely debadged mine because 1) I know what car I have and have no need to advertise for Subaru, 2) Its much easier to clean/wax without obstructions, and 3) Losing the weight adds 35whp. :)

I took all mine off but thinking about putting something back on like subie or REX just something to play around with, took ten mins with hair dryer, fishing line, and goo gone. Car looks perfectly clean no issues with that crappy factory glue that they use. Plus took off the bumper guards off as well, no issues with them.

Well I finally cracked and after a few days of debating and going back and forth i ended up removing them all. Everything came off a lot easier then I had expected and came out looking great! I will post pics once I have a chance to clean the entire car once mother nature stops dropping pollen and rain lol.

Sorry "bumper corner molding" to be correct lol
