I was talking with my friend and he said all I have to do is go to his place, jack it up and remove the mufflers and done.. Really that simple? I don't need to buy anything?.. I am aware I might get ticketed and such.. BTW ANY thought on the nameless exhaust?? It's only $300!!! Well under the 1k$ systems by perrin and cobb.. Thanks!

Uh.. you're buddy is missing something between his ears.. sure you can remove the mufflers and have a "deleted muffler" sound.. but then the exhaust dumps out right under the trunk instead of the rear of the car. Not exactly a good Idea. Nameless makes some pretty sweet products, I'd highly recommend if you want a deleted sound to go with their replacement pipes. ;)

stainless steel doesn't rust ;) .. it'll be nice n shiny :D The "bare finish" are the ones that aren't powder coated. But that should be all you need. There are a few members here running that specific nameless kit and really like them. I'm kinda jealous actually, I wanted to order up a '10 hatch exhaust but other things came up and cut off my play money :( .. for a lil while anyway lol.

nameless is still "working on" the 2008-2010 hatch axleback. i cant really seem to get a straight answer out of them as to when it will even be avail for order. they said on facebook they were going to post on the site for order, but that was almost a month ago and the site was never changed.

to the op, dont just take off your mufflers, thats just tuuurible. you will be happy with the nameless unit as all the other members on here are.

Nameless axleback FTW.I've had mine for about 2 months now.Best $400 I spent so far.And those chrome tips!!!

OP,I also got the kartboy exhaust hangers. The stock rubber hangers are good but felt a bit too flimsy. The PU hangers keep the exhaust from moving around.Just some added insurance.

Stock hangers should be fine.Even the people at Nameless said so.They sell exhaust hangers themselves. Its up to you if you want to change them.

I thought about changing the hangers after the exhaust shipped.I didn't want to wait another week for the hangers which is why I got the Kartboys from TIC Kartboy 08-09 Impreza exhaust hanger

go to a muffler shop with a flange that fits your exhaust then buy a pipe from them and have them bend it up how you want it. and of course have em weld the flange on the pipe then had a gasket or gasket maker and drive. did mine on my 02 wrx/hybrid sti and sounds great. just clutch it by cops. cost me 60 total with a 25$ flange

Hey... just one and a half months in on a new 11 WRX sedan. 650 miles only! Two Quick questions...If I put on a muffler delete exhaust (the Nameless for example), will I void my warranty? Also, are there any performance gains? It appears from past posts it is for sound only. Yes I am a Newbie. Thanks!

I would wait for the break in period to be over, just for peace of mind.. Don't forget to literally DRIVE the car a bit here and there during break in! But make sure the engine is warmed up before driving too.. Performance gains= no idea.. Sound gains= a beautiful symphony haha. And voiding warrarnty, it would only void your exhaust to be covered under the warrarnty.

Thanks for all the help! I finished with the removal.. the ping sound was like you guys said, rom the bolt losening.. But I have two new problems.. 1. I lost one of the slim metal oval shaped object that goes in between the axle and "main exhaust flow pipe".
2. My nameless doesn't come in for 2 more days! Is it safe to drive w/o the mufflers on, or should this car just stay in the garage?

... technically you could drive it.. its not going to harm anything with the mufflers unbolted but better to leave it sit until you get replacment the parts in. Exhaust exiting directly underneath the car instead of out the rear isn't good.. especially if you have the car closed up running the ac. .. carbon monoxide poisoning isn't any fun.

Ya...I am looking just at a cool sound diff...$300 seems reasonable. I am old enuf to be there when we put on glasspaks on our old V8s! The Subie has a kinda V8 Mini sound! Again I am new to this....I am very happy to have a car sound like it is not Farting, like some other 4cly I have heard. Sorry..not to enflame others...that is just my take

yeah, you should hear how mine pops and gargles when I have the 3" cutout open right behind the front passenger wheel.. good for scareing small children, not good for long drives. I'm wondering how much louder it's going to be with the 44mm EWG VTA.

95% of the time I roll in stealth mode with exhaust routed through the STi axelback, but it takes all of about 3min to open her up.
