Just got mine a week ago, honestly debating on red acents, or stay subtle with the same shade of grey the 18 inch rims are..I do think they look good together.
hell to be honest my mind is on overload which way to go..been thinking about the addition front spoiler and other lower body pieces...given they come black, may go black acents..lol

What about you?

Haha This has been troubling me for weeks. Mine inst scheduled for delivery till mid August but I wanted to get a jump start on it. I had posted the same question on the "2016 WRX" thread and got some good feedback.
Like you I was also think red. My main concern being the mudflaps and decals. The consensuses was that red might not look good on the dark blue and that the gun metal gray would look better. The thing is im not a subtle person. I like thing to be flashy and pop, although the car looks great with the gun metal grey. My other thought was going with white accents ( Grill Stripe ). I also toyed with the idea of Plasti Dipping my rims white.

I haven't fully decided but I think regardless of what I do on the exterior, I would like to keep the red theme on the interior. Pedal Lights, Decals, Shift Knob, ECT...

P.S. Im pretty sure Plasti Dip Makes a Gunmetal Grey which could be nice for Interior and Exteriors Trims & Lips. Best thing about it is, if you don't like it you can just peel it off and reapply different colors until you find a theme that you like.

Post a Pic of your car because its hard finding pictures of the Lapis Blue Pearl that truly shows the look of the car.

Hey guys. New to the forum and I will be ordering my '16 wrx in the next day or so. Can u all post a lot more pics of the lapis blue pearl? Im debating between that and wrb colors. Theres a ton of web pics and not so many of lbp. Any more pics would be great!

I saw the Lapis blue at a dealer a couple days ago, and it is gorgeous. An original, now not to be mentioned dealer, told me the Lapis was purple...jeeez couldn't be farther from the truth. In the sun, it has amazing shadows that accentuate the lines of the car, on one angle you have a deep blue, almost navy blue in appearance, then on another angle it shines this brilliant bright pearl blue. The color plays tricks on you, and it is spectacular. I saw the GBP in an older model in the same lot and THAT was a purple'ish color.

Yeah it's likely the dealer was a bit mixed up. To me the Galaxy Blue (available on the 2015 WRX and 2013 BRZ) and the Lapis Blue (available on the 2016 WRX) look nearly identical, and are most certainly blue. The Plasma Blue Pearl available on the 2012-2014 WRX often looks quite purple.

It's not the Lapis blue, but there are plenty of comparison shots between the Galaxy Blue and Rally Blue here.

Is it just me, or does the: Legacy and Impreza BOTH HAVE the same booty? I swear every time I see those two cars I think it's a WRX. I kinda wish the WRX had a more distinctive look. Of course the spoiler on the STI is very distinct, but that isn't on all the trims.

Awesome. Mine is expected mid to late August. Any future plans to mod it. As you can read above most are struggling with which color accents they want to go with, including myself.

No plans for engine mods. Was thinking of exhaust, but once it came in I think it sounds just how I want it so I'm throwing out that idea. When it comes to exterior, I like anything black or dark grey. I have the carbon fiber trunk trim and think it looks great. Same with the wheels. I got a very subtle black rubber license plate border the other day and I think it looks great. BTW I debadged the left side of the trunk so all that is left on the back is the WRX. Lovin the look right now, maybe I'll even take off the WRX sometime in the future.

The big mystery is what's best for the interior. There's already a ton of red (dash, seat stitching). So my idea is that anything I add I will make blue. I got it with the blue footwell illumination, and I got a black shift knob with a blue WRX on it. I think it is the perfect mix. You have plenty of red matching already, and now I have the blue subaru logo on the steering wheel, blue writing on shift knob, blue footwell illumination, and when my nav is on the audio screen (which it normally is) it is also blue. Plus you can see a few blue parts of the outside of the car while you drive.

Everything is preference. Blue has always been my favorite color, and I think that if I added more red to the inside it would be a little overpowering and control my vibe a too much. I like my decisions this far. I'll take some interior pics later.

PS. I got my shift knob through WC Lather Works and I would highly recommend him. I was very nervous with where to get my knob cause there are some bad reviews of certain guys. But I didn't see any bad reviews with WC, I emailed the guy (Chris) and he was always quick to respond and I even had some questions that he helped me with. I wanted to mention this cause I know what it's like shopping for the perfect shift knob.

I thinking im going to stick to white and gunmetal gray for my exterior. Instead of debadgeing the WRX, im going to plasti-dip it with a black or gun metal grey. Im also going to do dark smoke overlays for my tail lights and headlight eyebrows. I do like the idea of adding blue to the interior as much as possible. When you get a chance I would like to see this shift knob your talking about, because you are correct its very hard to find the perfect knob. Iv looked at hundreds and haven't found one that screams YES! yet.

I've gotchu. I just went out to my car while at work and took a few shots. First is just a pic of the car is direct sunlight. Then a couple shots of the knob. The sun is causing a ton of glare so the blue isn't really popping out, but usually it matches the nav screen and steering wheel logo pretty well. (And the footwell illumination at night)

That knob is called the Elite VP STi Sphere. It's stainless steel on the bottom half and copolymer on the top. I wanted a heavy-ish knob but refuse to do all stainless steel because of everyone saying how hot/cold it gets. The copolymer (even black, sitting in the sun all day) stays fine and doesn't hurt to touch. I felt the bottom half the other day after work and it was unbearably hot, you would definitely need to have it covered with a cloth when sitting all day in the summer if you had one all stainless steel. I don't feel like having that problem.

The catch is it's super expensive. $135, plus $30 for the engraving. I wasn't going to do it because of that but I couldn't find anything that compared. I debated getting two knobs so I could have a heavy one, but also have a copolymer or something that doesn't get crazy hot for the summer months, but then I realized I would just be spending more if I did that. So I bit the bullet and now I have the IMO perfect knob year round.

Of course I'm biased cause I own the knob, but hopefully I can help provide some useful information for your decision cause I wish I had someone to tell me this stuff before I went for it.

I'll most likely do the same 35% (? - whatever is the maximum legal in OR) tint I did on my previous car:

The front windows are down in the photo and almost but not quite as dark. Never had any trouble driving out of state (CA, WA, NV)

Pics are looking great guys, thanks!

I'm still torn between this and the WRblue. I think I'm actually making a decision on my build today and putting down the initial $1000 deposit.

Going with a 16' Premium 6Spd and tbd on the color!!

The WRB is sick too, just depends what you like. I drove a white car before and was worried that I would get sick of a flashy blue or red car after a long time, so I chose from the lapis, white and dark grey. The WRB definitely stand out a lot which can be a good thing if you like that.

I would love to hear some opinions on this:

I'm thinking of plasti dipping my WRX badge and the chrome around the subaru logos both front and back, to make them a gunmetal color to match the rims and carbon fiber truck trim.

Best thing about Plasti-Dip is that it peels of with no negative affects. I think that would look good and I would love to see it. If you dont love you can peel it off and take another approach.
Plenty of youtube videos out there that show how to plasti-dip badges.
