If i find a crashed 08-10 sti will the headlight assembly fit my 2011 wrx base?

Thanks

I don'e see why they wouldn't the only thing they changed was fenders and bumpers. I'd ask a dealer to be certain....good luck finding a crashed sti. Regular impreza lights will probably fit too, again check with a dealer to be certain. Those things are way to expensive new

the lamp itself may fit, but you may have an issue with the wiring. the sti lamps are HIDs, and even used they are going to be crazy expensive and you possibly may need to get the wriring harness and the HID balasts to make sure they are compatible.

The bolting in isn't the problem, the wiring is.

I'd talk to somebody that's done a headlight swap on the earlier Imprezas as it'll be the same process. It requires a wiring splice in a couple of places if you want to use the leveling switch.

While I was working on my fogs I got a peek at the OEM HID ballasts(Which is bolted below the headlight assembly). It looked like it just takes the same plug that plugs into the 2006 fog bulbs(Note that I didn't unplug it so it could be different internally).

If it's a direct plug into your stock harness the issue you'll run into will be the lamp aiming/leveling mechanism. I'm not sure if they have a separate plug for that. I can also guarantee that you don't have the aiming switch for it. If you decide to buy one off a wrecked WRX/STi I'd recommend buying the switch along the headlight assembly.

You mean why do the leveling switch? Or was this a question to the OP on why they'd want to do an HID swap?
