OK so the title says it itself. i have a 06 STI, if i drive on the free way for about an hour my center console around the shifter becomes very hot. hotter then i would think it should be. it also happens when i run the canyons but i would expect that. but not just regular driving the freeway. so my question is....does anyone else's transmission get overly hot and if so is there anyway you fixed it or any ideas.

"Subaru Extra S" is specifically made to work with the 6-speed and it's limited slip diffs.

Amsoil has also had good reviews

Please note: Redline shockproof cannot be used in the 6-speed because of the transmission oil pump.

Most of the information in this thread is for the 5-speed, but there is a lot of good information in it :D
