Alright guys ive got a quick question,i have a 2008 subaru impreza wrx,and recently my engine blew a rod so now im working on getting a new engine installed,im going all stock again but im wondering what turbo i should go with TD04 the stock turbo? Or a vf52 which is on 2009+ sti's? Before my engine blew i had a blouch 480xt and was boosting 17-18 psi.i also have a stage 2 ACT clutch and flywheel so im trying to get the best out of it.

Wouldn't you expect to make roughly 100HP less on either turbo compared to the 480? In any case the question becomes, what can you run with the least cost in mods at this point.

@SD_GR i dont really care about the power loss i just want to get it up and running again,i dont have all the money to get the most out of it right now.im sure if i go with the sti turbo which will bolt right up i should be able to get it tuned and boost it to 17psi no problem.i just dont want to go all out on it again and have engine problems.im already about 7,000 out of my pocket and that isnt including the turbo.

The sti turbos are not a direct bolt on replacement for the 08-14 wrx's due to Subaru going with a LGT intercooler setup. Your best bet would be to purchase a used vf52, which is a direct bolt on, and get a tune.
