Is my new '13 TOO fuel efficient?

I have about 750 miles on my 13 WRX hatch, and I normally average around 24.6-25.3 MPG on the trip computer. I filled up this evening and reset the trip computer, and drove like normal. 2 miles in, my avg. mpg started going up to 28 and even topped out around 30.3 mpg, then held steady around 28.5 which has me very suspicious of a potential problem.

Has anyone else had this weird situation happen before?

Yeah...he was a very smart designer with some really odd idiosyncrasies. I can't really go into much of it without violating forum rules.

All those people, most of whom who do it deliberately, really are putting themselves & others at harm. They are not going to slow anyone down. Just piss everyone off into doing something rash. There was even a part in the Defensive Driver course that touched on the subject.

If only this happened more often.

Download an app called Gas Cubby. The MPG calculation in the dash is always a little more favorable than actual. Since I've got mine (2013 hatch, w/roof rack) I am getting 21.63 mpg over 4400 miles. My mpg calf says 22.3. Just calculate it yourself, and you'll see what I mean. But when I'm cruising around Denver on the interstate doing 55-70 I'm getting near 26-27 all the way up to 30-31 at times. The key is staying consistent.

Clint at Heuberger recommended I get a tune right away, he says factory tune leans towards good gas mileage and I can get better performance changing that without changing any parts out? Have the name of a recommended tuner in Denver too.
If I wanted good gas mileage I would have bought the 2013 VW GTI I was looking at, but I love the performance of my WRX. I wanted a 2013 Mustang GT Premium but the price was too high for my budget at this time and the rwd wasn't real smart for Denver, so the WRX fits the bill best. Just yesterday I had an off ramp take me by surprise and I had to do hard braking and turning and was pleasantly surprised how well the WRX handled the situation :)
