Front end clunking

My front end makes a typical noise of bad sway bar bushings it sounds like (if anyone owned an 07 body style tc or camry you'll know what i mean as the rear sway bar bushings go) only thing is that I find weird is the noise goes away when I'm riding my brakes.
I've already planned in get to g front and rear swats and end links sometime in the future but I'm wondering g what I can look at as far as diagnosing goes?
My end links are shot, can't get any play out of the front sway bar but then again they are stiffer then the rears...doesn't make the noise when joining the front end and I do the know how else to tell if something with the struts are bad?

You would need to get it on a lift, check the struts for any visual damage.
Also check if struts are leaking. You could order endlinks now they may fix the issue. I like Kartboy endlinks, they are reasonably priced and work well. And you can buy replacement bushings for endlinks.
Several of my friends have done just the endlinks, and have raved about the difference they make.

Thanks for that. I've been meaning to post about it for a while now and just keep forgetting. I found it weird that it always goes away with brakes applied...but then again it is a subaru
I'll give the endlinks a shot and see what happens. They do come with new bushings anyway too don't they?
I'd like to even throw new sway bar bushings at it since I noticed a bit of dry rot on them as well but I don't think they'd fit a thicker sway bar and wouldn't want to spend money on something that's only going to be needed a short time

You can get some WhiteLine sway bar bushings realitively cheap.
I did front and rear sways a couple months back and what a difference.
What I'm going to do to hopefully avoid clunkage, is have spare sway bar and end link bushings.
Then replace them every 2 1/2 years or so. There not expensive and ride quality is important, because of my back.

Stock sways are 21mm front 16mm rear. WhiteLine makes bushings that will fit.
Even just those bushings and new end links, it should stop clunking.
Should make a difference, until you can get different sway bars.

I was just about to say...since it goes away with the brakes applied maybe it's bad Co tool arms or ball joints since they're kinda bolted to the knuckle like the calipers

But usually if control arms rentals went bad braking would cause the clunking and maybe pulling/lurching? Not suppress it?
