So I'm looking into buying a downpipe. Are there any dangers in buying a used part such as this. I'm wondering if its worth it to buy used to save a few $. Also debating on whether to go catted vs catless. I live in PA, so I need a cat to pass inspection. So basically my question is: save $ & buy used with cat, buy new with cat, or just buy new catless.

Buy used.

You say you need a cat to pass inspection, but then ask if you should go catless... AFAIK, it's not a safe bet to assume you'll pass even with a cat. In recent reading I've read that catted DP's can help with boost creep, but I haven't investigated it since then.

Excellent and correctly done poll.

Used with cat. It's more fun to go stock > stage 1 > stage 2 > ?? in stages. You get to enjoy and appreciate it more.

I bought a used catted dp from a vendor on this site. Had it about a year now and no complaints. I'm also in PA and just passed my emissions test a month ago with no problems.

If you don't have a heavy cash flow I suggest going used, just try to get pics and mileage before purchase.
