BUILD LOG:
WRX-maniac's 2012 STi Limited Sedan

The Story:
I traded in my 2011 WRX for this STi in June of 2016. It has been my dream to own an STI since I could drive. With finally owning one, my goals are to eventually end up making this car my weekend warrior/track car. Although I will have to DD it for a few years. My main focus will be making good horsepower, while building up the suspension and drivetrain components at the same time. Overall I just want this car to be everything I have always envisioned it to me in my mind, and have fun while doing it. Hope you enjoy!

I have been neglecting to add photo's to this. Here are a couple quick ones I shot today. Nothing special and my car is filthy, but shows the window tint and the black side ornaments. Still have to put on my front lip and window chrome trim delete.

Thanks man! I am very happy with the tint job they did. Nice group of guys too.

BTW im paying a 30 pack of beer to anyone that wants to come help me take my front bumper off and put my front lip on. Just in case anyone is interested.

I would so be there! I just took my front bumper off this weekend. Very easy. Just be careful with those clips on the bumper. Some guys have destroyed them trying to pop them out. The middle part which you pry off needs to be out half way if you wish to remove the whole clip from the hole. If you try to pull from the middle it will not come out.

When you take one out you will see what I mean. At full extension, it actually pulls the legs outwards. If you leave that middle section at halfway, it actually allows the legs to close in which results in easy removal of the clip.

I have watched a few videos online on how to remove it for my body style. Seems easy enough. Basically all just pop pins and pulling on the corners by the fenders to start popping it out. Tomorrow is suppose to be really nice and want to fully detail/clay bar the entire car. But really want to get this front lip on first. Only thing im afraid of is doing it by myself and dropping one side on the ground and scratching it up........ maybe ill lay out a blanket under it or something to protect it.

Yep. I would use 2 boxes and place them on both sides. This will help support the bumper as you take one side off and go to the other side. Very helpful especially when you are doing it yourself!

Check my pics in my build page so you can see what I'm talking about.

My god this STI is sexy. I'm 16 and have always just wanted a WRX, because my insurance would be out of the roof for a STI (still out of the roof for the WRX). Have a truck instead of a WRX and still love it, but still really want one of these. Lookin' good man.

Thanks man, Appreciate the love. But you think its sexy now, continue to watch my build thread. A couple of years from now I MIGHT be able to consider it sexy. lol. Take your time and don't push yourself financially. I got my first wrx (06 wrx) when I was 20. Over the years I have had that one, an 08 wrx hatch, an 11 wrx hatch, and now finally my STi. But I am also 28, almost 29, with a career and a mortgage. Took me this long to afford one.

Recieved the rest of my engine bay dress up pieces from Perrin today. Should hopefully get them on in the next week.

They also sent me a free Perrin banner. Man cave/garage insert. Done.
