Which premium gas from each company is cleaner/better?

I was getting better gas mileage from HEB gas than I was from Valero. Chevron gave me the worst mileage of the bunch... its all a matter of when you fill up at a particular station, and how you drive afterwards. Fill up when its cheap, and don't drive like me and you should be good to go!

If there were any evidence I'd be the first to pick the best brand; I drive many miles each year and own four cars. However, I've seen no evidence, and have had no problems using absolutely ANY fuel that's convenient or cheap or whatever. I'll fill up anywhere in the US or EU without hesitating, and will continue to do so. No reason not to.

I suppose that's one way of looking at it, and I certainly don't think you can go wrong buying fuel (after all, I believe just the opposite) but OTOH I can't help but wonder whether those extra $4 per fill up help pay for... extra advertising.

There's a Chevron station I know that is great to go to, because it's clean inside and out, the ice cream is always stocked fresh and they have those machines that grind coffee beans on the spot for each cup you buy. They also offer handy-wipes and funnels for fluids, and they're polite and cheerful. Great station.

The one point wont hurt your car or performance. Many stations out west only offer 91 as the top premium. I was in Canada last week and had to fill up, 91 was the only stuff around. I filled up on that with my stage 2 93 octane map. Drove just as strong.
