To tune or not to tune

2011 WRX.
I'm just starting my dive down the modification rabbit hole (keeping in mind I want to avoid voiding my warranty) and would like to subtly add some modifications. I just installed an mbrp catback exhaust and was tossing around the idea of tuning. Here's the question: would a bolt on be worth it or should I wait until my warranty is up to begin the mods?

I know this does not answer your question in general but modifications alone cannot void a warranty. They have to prove and provide sufficient evidence that your modifications are what caused the issue you are claiming under warranty.

but I have to ask as a 2011what warranty exactly do you have? Are you in the United Statee? It could be different elsewhere.

You changed the vehicle to operate outside of it's design parameters.

You lose.

100%

The MM act as I mentioned before does not work that way, contrary to what people want to believe. The MM act says they can't deny engine failure claims because you used duralast brake pads. They can deny a claim because you used a k&n filter because it is outside of the designed parameters of a paper filter.

^ this. If you think they have to be mathematicians and show all their work or how they got to the conclusion you're in for a world of hurt. Bottom line if you modify your car you're running a greater risk of being denied warranty work. So if thats the goal and you have the money to put up if something goes wrong go for it.
