Im always seeing people in this forum talking about racing slower cars, and then being surprised by the fact that the car they just pounded into the dirt accelerates past them as though the race had not already ended 20 seconds ago. This phenomenon is sometimes refered to as the "Ricer Flyby." Im here to definativly explain to all that the reason the slower car passes you as though he is not done racing is becasue of just that, he IS NOT done.
When you race the 'ricer' you accelerate to...say the end of second gear, becasue by this time you already smoked him and would like to keep your speed safe since there is no reason to risk it against such an inferior vehicle. BUT in the case of the 'ricer' he has not yet even begun to approach the posted speed limit, so to him, he hasent even done anything/illegal fun yet. By the time your ahead decelerating/talkin on the phone/at home in bed, hes still busy accelerating like there is no tomorrow towards a blistering rate of 45mph in an attempt to prove to you that he can.
You see, its really quite simple when you think about it, you enjoy speed and the thrill of driving, so does the other guy, it just takes him longer to do so.
Let that be the end of asking about the need of the 'Flyby,' or saying 'why do they do that.' Just accept it, it happens.
Thank You.
