Apparently in todays icy conditions in NYC a car hit another car which in turn hit my parked car, a Dodge Durango hit a Nissan Maxima which hit my Subaru Impreza. I was inside my frens house watching tv and his dad saw/witness the event and called me down to make sure there was no damage to my car which WASNT the case :unhappy:

The driver that hit my car said I should talk to the driver that hit him when I asked for his license and insurance card, I asked the both drivers for their paperwork niether wanted to comply, Thank goodness there was police right across the street handling another accident, my dad said I shouldn't have to worry since my car was parked and both drivers left the scene and I had taken the plate numbers down.

By chance does anyone know where I can get those cheap $30-$40 dollar sti v-limited poly replica lip? I'm gonna have my spoiler kit which came with the premium package painted over and would like to put the replica lip on to protect the lip spolier on my car. Sorry for the long post.

Why did you let them leave? You should've been making a lot of noise about them trying to flee the scene of an accident (so the officer dealing with the accident across the street would've heard and intervened). You should never let another driver leave the scene of an accident before the police have written their report.

Hope the plates you wrote down were legit :sadwave:

Actually I tried to bring it to the cops attention but like I said they were handling another accident - was only 1 patrol car with 2 officers.

At first they gave me a civilian accident report to fill out, they didnt want to write up the report themselves, I looked at the accident report and saw it was too confusing to fill out and went back to them and told them I cant fill this out... so in that time the other guys left...

Plates seem legit, it just seems like they had no drivers license... The Dodge Durango was there to see about his sister who was involved in the accident the cops were handling across the street so I know his plates are legit, the Nissan Maxima's plates I hope were legit - he had wanted to go thru insurace at first but I think he wanted the cash rather then deal with insurance.

As long as they weren't dealing with someone who was hurt in the other accident, I'm surprised the officers wouldn't intervene if vehicles were attempting to flee the scene of an accident :sadwave:

Well, whatever happens, I wish you the best.

I woulda risked bodily harm at this point. I would stand in front of the cars and say "if you leave, run me over." Then the cops would have to come intervene and at this point, you will own a few new WRXs after that lawsuit

If something like that happened to me though, it might result in a fist going through the driver's side window. My temper has grown very short with disrespectful asshats. :unhappy:
"My name is Mikie, and I'm a rage-a-holic"

"Hi, Mikie!"

BTW: we meet every Thursday (PM me for details) ;)

Progressive told me its "no fault" and they will be going after the other 2 drivers insurance companies. They asked if I wanted my car fixed now - told them no since my car was driveable and would wait for them to fully pay for it which they understood.

Progressive already cut me a check for what they owe me - total damages 1499.99 - so I have a check for 499.99 (i have a 1k deductable). I think it also helps that this is the first claim I've made since being with them as of Nov 07 and the fact my car was parked LOL.

I'm gettin a lip and that SPT carbon fiber thingy to replace the chrome plate above my license plate :D

that great that you are getting your car fixed. But thats not enough, they need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for leaving the scene of an accident. Thats a serious offense here in NC.

One of my main concerns during all this snow was exactly this. Way too many people drive recklessly in the snow. I notice trucks with awd/4wd tend to be the worst about it, as if the snow will let them magically stop instantly on command.

Sorry about the rant, just pisses me off when stuff like this happens.

Good luck with everything.

Edit: Like Liquidr1 is saying, they need to pay for running off like that. It's illegal to leave the scene of an accident like that.
