Yeah, but if your going to do it right, you are not going to want a muff delete.

I understand exhaust sound is a personal thing. However annoying is wide spread. Seriously, there is no youtube video that will tell you anything. I used to want muff deletes on my 550i BMW until I actually heard it in person.

There are amazing exhausts out there that sound phenomenal, have a volume you notice without alerting everyone you are coming from miles away. I would even recommend the n1 over a muff delete and it isn't much better, it's still obnoxious and fart cannon sounding.

Mufflers and resonators are designed to quiet undesirable exhaust noise and amplify the good stuff. Removing one of them just leaves you noise

I still don't think its loud enough to be obnoxious. Maybe because you know its a muffler delete when you hear it, it bothers you. Anyways for OP if you want something that's a little louder than stock Id go for the muffler. If you want something that's louder than stock and more noticeable get the delete. If you want my personal advice, what I would do is save another 400-500 bucks and get the Tomei Expreme Titanium Catback. It sounds amazing and will you a little power boost unlike the delete. Good luck.

I agree with the other guys, in that "muffler deletes" just do not sound good on these cars.

jdidtht, I had the nameless Axle Back "Deletes" on my '11 WRX with no other mods as well, and then I swapped out to a catless downpipe and it was ungodly loud. Honestly loud to the point where I think having kids in that car would've caused permanent hearing loss.

I know "loud" is a relative term, but as owners get newer and newer, It seems everything but an open downpipe is "too quiet" to too many people, ha.
Lolol I respect your opinions. I think the nameless deletes sound ridiculously good. With a dp it accentuates the lows but gives you the clean upper end as well. Sound in cars is all relative and completely opinion based until a person starts measuring decibels. OP should just go with the 4" if he's at all concerned about the overall volume of his car. I daily commute 1hr each way every day and my nameless deletes to me, made my drive that much more fun.. we drive it everywhere of course and we all enjoy it. Wife background is dad with hotrods, classic cars etc etc so it all fits in. My buddies sti sedan with the same exhaust and cobb catted dp sounds amazing and inside the cabin is relatively quiet, no need to raise voice to chat or anything. It's only loud when you want it. So, I'm going invidia catless ,so I expect more sound then he has but overall I dig it

It just depends on what OP is going for. If your going for that "sense of occasion" like driving the car is something like a special occasion and you aren't worried about this or that then just try the deletes, nameless is a couple hundred bucks for the deletes, you don't like them I promise you could resell them in a week to another guy, for sure, or if you are just wanting alittle something added to your sound then go the 4"route. I think of it like a Ferrari or Gt350r or something that has a sense of occasion to it, like driving the car is something to be enjoyed and special so I want the sound, anyone who hasn't rode in a car with a nameless delete has no idea.. it's just not that crazy. If your talking twin straights out the back yea, that's going to sound different for sure and I wouldn't go that route, and as one user stated just drill some holes in your mufflers won't give you a good idea for sound other than what a ****ty exhaust leak would sound like. Their are certain frequencies that aren't in the car anymore that at lower rpms with the stock exhaust was a definite drone, they don't exist with the nameless. Their is no drone. But, it's either quiet or not quiet, but not crazy obnoxious. These threads are pretty subjective and your not really going to get a clear answer until you ride in the set up your thinking about. That is the only time you'll know. I also somewhat disagree with the you can't get any real info from youtube. Yea most videos sound quality is bad, but a few out there aren't. You can get an idea of tone anyways, but like I said, you literally have to try what your thinking or find someone with the set up you are thinking of to really know what your in for.

I can tell you without any doubt a muffler delete in a 15+ is in excess of 95db. That is our city ordinance and the previous owner of my car that has 2015 with muff deletes gets tickets regularly for it. I cant remember if it's 15 or 20ft they check at, but that's loud. Loud enough to start causing hearing damage. That's louder than a Harley, they typically clock in around 90 with an aftermarket exhaust.

Maybe outside the car directly behind it. Inside my sedan isn't 1/3 as riding any Harley I've EVER owned or ridden. Nameless not just a straight pipe

Facts are facts. Your opinion is not a fact. 95 db is hearing loss level. The car is exceeding that, and judging from what I hear at work and knowing the ambient levels there I venture a lot a good 5 or so more. So the sound deadening in your car helps a little and you get down say around 90 or so, but everyone else outside of your car is not amused.

The interior of my car is NOT 95db at any point. Behind my car, **** ya 100+ I'm sure. Don't care. But if interior sound isn't a concern to someone then this is an irrelevant thread, it needs to be considered. You don't know me, or my cars decibels so your "facts" are indeed also heresay which is opinion. I'm surprised folks are getting butthurt in a thread asking for advice in regards to exhaust . Lol 98% of subbie forums I'm in your minority.

I know is just an app on my s7edge but 80 is wot in 3rd and the other is at 70mph cruising no radio or conversation inside of course the 85 was my wife yelling to see how loud she could get it. Lolol outside in the back far louder but the point is, it's only loud as hell if you are stomping on it. Driving nicely no cop here in Minneapolis even looks at me, in any car your rodding around in will draw attention. Southern states and others may differ greatly but never had any issues if you drive responsibly where you should

Also expect your rear bumper to discolor, your car to constantly smell like gas, your exhaust tips to constantly be black, and your car to overboost if you don't have an EWG setup.

I've only ever seen one claim that a cat back helps power. I came across a thread I believe at nasioc or iwsti that had dyno charts of various exhausts none had any difference greater than margin of error.

Yeah, dude I'm catless god help you it reeks and I've given up keeping my tips clean. My car will make your eyes water on a cold start.
