well now since is sold my wrx a coupe days ago im lookin into a lgt spec.b. i know that its bigger and heavier than the wrx but im a pretty big guy (6-3 265) and im still growing, being roomier i thought that it would be a good upgrade both in comfort and size. i heard that the spec.b has the same motor as the sti but not the same components ie turbo, injectors, etc. i have also heard that the 6 speed that is in the spec b is the same from the sti (hope so). if get it its gonna be a dd and i just want a little performance bump nothing too crazy, so finally to the real question, are sti parts ie turbo, injectors etc compatible with the lgt. thanks for the help, sorry about the long post.

What year are you looking to get (new or used)? if you are planning on going with a new one, stick it out for the 2010 Legacy. It looks amazing.

The parts are different as far as I know but even stock they can make the same power. The Transmissions (I am not sure but) are not EXACTLY the same but interchangeable (the difference would be overdrive gear ratios for fuel economy). The Legacy GT is a great car new or used and very comfortable.

Down at the bottom a good over view of the system;

I have used this for Imprezas a few time to get to know them more(no spec b) ; 2005 Subaru Legacy Research page: 2.5i, Limited, GT turbo, GT Limited, XT, Outback

For 2010 I read that they axed the Spec B.

Historically, the boosted LGT's have been slightly quicker than WRX's in stock form. Parts wise, they are usually identical to a WRX with the exception of a slightly larger Turbo, and a more robust transmission

Spec B's up the anty with the STi 6 speed (different 5th and 6th ratios for lower RPM cruising) and the many goodies that come with the Spec B package.

IMHO, one of the best Subaru products out there.

With a simple high flow catted D/P and a Cobb AP Stage 2 tune, a Spec B will run neck and neck with a stock STi (frumaroll). Clutch was the weak point on the LGT, and I'm not sure if the Spec B gets the STi clutch too. Hopefully it does.

Looks like the 2010 LGT receive the same engine/turbo combo as the new WRX (265 hp), except the turbo (FINALLY!!!) gets move to the front and under the engine. So far, no word on a 2010 Spec B though.

Fully loaded and under 34K for a 2010 LGT looks pretty good to me, considering the competion.

I still remember the shocked looks on Audi, Merc.B, BMW, etc. owners when my stock looking 05 LGT would eat them up out of a toll booth. Priceless to say the least.:cool:

As someone who went from an 02 WRX to an 04 STi to an 05 LGT, I highly recommend the transition.

spec B is a dandy IMO, firmer springs and Bilstein dampers- aluminum control arms front/rear, Torsen limted slip in the rear- good stuff :)

the 2010 does get a bump in power (and a six speed too :)), but no one seems to know if the spec B will still be offered

maybe there will be some good deals on the spec B as the 2010's start to arrive?????

There was a used spec B here last winter for a bit too much, but at this point I wish I would have gotten it anyway. I highly doubt that there will be a 2010 spec B, a 2010 STi, and even perhaps not a 2010 WRX the way things are going. Because Subaru continues to fail to release any information on these products for 2010 (and the Legacy 2010 info has already been released, so we should already know about a spec B if there was actually going to be one), I have significant doubts about their business plan...

Nice move picking up the spec B!!
