Yes, 35% is legal in front here, anything goes in the back, so after some research settled on 20%. I have kids that ride in the back and that should keep the 3 year old from screaming that the sun is in her eyes.
Thanks....

Firstly, congrats all on your great taste :D Lapis Blue is definitely the smartest color available for this car.
Ok, here are some subtle but classy (i think so anyway) external mods on my Lapis Blue Pearl. I'm going for a dark overall look with some pop's of white to offset the Lapis blue and blacks. Aesthetic tweaks so far;

  • Clear Bra on front bumper and hood
  • Opticoat Pro on entire car (that stuff is amazing, dust just falls off and every wash looks like a full wax)
  • 30% tints
  • Front Lip. Not OEM but good replica painted professionally at an auto shop
  • Rokblokz mud flaps with white logos (might change these to white subaru logos)
  • White Enkei vinyl decals on rims
  • White 'WRX' badge on front grille
  • Lifted the exhaust's with new hangers to better fit the spaces and get rid of the 'droop' (done after these photos were taken)

Wow that thing is beautiful! How much for the opticoat pro? Was the coating done over the clear bra or clear bra over the opticoat?

Thanks mate. Can't recall the cost as i had the entire thing done along including window tints and some other stuff, but i'm in Australia so price wouldn't really be comparable to the US anyway. I did find however that by going to a single shop and getting everything done by the same place Window's, bra, opticoat and others) I was able to get a better deal. Also, when I picked it up at the dealer i asked them not to touch it and do any detailing at all. I drove it straight front the dealer (still with plastic on the rear seats) to the detail shop for the treatment. By doing this i saved a few hundred because the detailer didn't have to remove wax and silicon wheel coatings that the dealerships usually put on first.

Yes, the clear bra went on first, then the opticoat went over the entire car including on top of the clear bra and wheels. Opticoat on the wheels is' fantastic too. So easy to clean.

There are purple times of day. I'm not threatened by that myself but if you are then it's not the right color for you. I feel that the added depth it brings is very interesting.
Well, it took me over a year, to finally have all my financial ducks, in a row, but as it turns out, I'm not threatened by the blue that is lapis! [emoji12]

First drive, on the way home...

Next day, today, light smoked, tail light over lays, debadged, and Rokblokz-ed...

Red accents, everywhere, thanks to royal_wmd. I've been wanting to do this, ever since I saw his, much earlier, in this thread.

JDM armrest. Easy install and color matches better than expected and now the armrest is at the same height as the door armrest...

Let the games begin!
Let's go find that 4200 RPM dead spot.

A few days ago, I swapped out the transmission mount for the 020 mount, as recommended by Steemax and tutorial by jobber.
The shifts do feel more solid, but something I was not expecting was the sound difference. I assume it's because the new mount is so solid and sturdy that it causes the vibration sound to be a bit deeper. It's nothing bothersome and I may be imagining it. I didn't think to concentrate on how things sounded, before the swap, but I'm pretty sure it's a little different.
New, in the pack with part number:

Front view. OEM on left, new on right:

Edge view with level. The new mount is a bit taller. OEM on left, new on right:

Thank you! I'm really enjoying it! It's my first turbo car.
BTW, it's been raining, here, for a month. It looks like a dirty rally car, right now.

First time/first post on this forum, but excited to be a member. got my LBP 2017 WRX just over a week ago when my 2008 VW Rabbit crapped itself...at work now, here's the best picture I have, but I'll post some better pics either later tonight or tomorrow morning for you all. I also invested in a car cover, as I park outside and I figured it'd help keep the paint pristine. So many small mods I wanna do to this car that I know will add up...but for now I'm just focusing on tint which should be done on Saturday.

RE: the color contrast options discussed on the first page...I was thinking maybe a lime green like the concept WRX that was first introduced? idk just a thought.

The red accents above were my first idea of what to do, i'm curious how that would look with a red star overlay on the badges

i'm also curious on whether they changed up the wheel style or something? P. much all the wheels I've seen stock on the WRX's are 10spoke, but mine are way different

It's hard to tell by the angle, but I believe you have a base model. The split 5 spoke wheels are on the Premium & Limited.
I believe there are some pics in this thread with the red stars overlay.

Finally had the combo of decent enough weather and opportunity to give it a wash and turn it from this

haha you are correct, it is base. that would explain it then. I'm still undecided on whether I like the base model wheels or the upgraded ones better..it's like 50/50 depending on my mood. I'll take a more in depth look through the thread for those overlays or others

here's a slightly better picture i took yesterday so you can actually see the vehicle.

that wash^ looks great! I just got mine washed sunday...then it rained on tuesday. dandy

My wash didn't even last 24 hours. The next day was frosty and they dumped dirt all over the roads.
Those base wheels on mine are take offs from a 2015 that I am using for snow tires.

Well, I finally had a chance, decent temp and motivation to install the Perrin shifter bushing.
WOW! This made the biggest impact of the shifter upgrades, so far. Solid and sure shifts.

I started out with the port installed short throw shifter. After about 1000 miles, I swapped in the type N transmission mount. That made a solid feel to everything, really, with minimal added vibration.
Then after another 2000 miles, or so, I added the Perrin shift stop. That helped tighten the end gate throws up a bit more.
Today the bushing went in at about 7000 miles and it is super nice. Best $25 upgrade, ever, on anything I can think of.
[emoji106] HUGE THUMBS UP! [emoji106]

I'm curious, have you or anyone else noticed that shifting from 1st to 2nd gear is a little jumpy? Maybe it's just me...I can get every other shift pretty smooth but for some reason my 2nd gear always grabs it kinda quick.

also, managed to get my windows tinted last weekend before the holidays! although my drivers side window has one small bubble that I think is just liquid, gonna give it a few more days before I call/take it back to have it redone to see if it will settle. Hope you guys all had a good holiday.

By 'jumpy' are you referring to the shifter itself or the way the engine responds?
