Hello guys.. im having this issue for almost 5 years no prevail. Ive been here and there unfortunately no solution..i hope you guys can help this issue n very much appreciated.

I owned a wrx 2006 ej25. As mention above, my car is having issue with the timing degree..
With the WOT at 3rd gear the ignition timing degree start at 17 degree from 3000 rpm and went down to 15 13 and sometime 12 the minimum.. i can feel that im losing power at high rpm.

I really dont know what causing the pulling of timing.. when the tunner try to do some tweaking on the ignition timing degree he said that " the ignition timing degree is not listening to me" what he meant is that when he try to change the degree nothing happen. He also mention that i have a fake knock.. the figures of the knock is unbelievable. If its a real knock my engine would have already been blown as per my tuner.. i have check the surrounding of the engine theres no loosing nut or anything on top of the block..

I have not tried changing the ecu as it is very limited here in my country..

So im stuck with this problem.. bare in mind that driving normally i have no issue.. only when WOT is the problem.. the higher the gear the lower the ignition degree.

I m sorry for the poor english..

Any idea is welcome

I'm not sure what you are logging, but this is probably not what you think it is...

The ECU can pull timing through compensations and knock control. What makes you think anything is even wrong?

Thank you for reply zax.. it is because i felt the loss in power at high rpm.. previously , the ignition timing degree would stuck at 17 degree from 3000rpm to 7000rpm.. this do so much power however my tunner said the timing degree should have rise as d rpm rise.. so i have actually having this problem from the begining it just now it get worse as the timing is dropping instead of stuck at 17 degree like before..

Hi mr 09, thank you for the comment.. so i do not understand the meaning of excessive valve train... But i do have like small knocking sound on the valve or head.. they say thats how subaru is.. which i assume it wont affect anything.. and i do have friend n his subaru engine is way smoother sound then mine.. so yes mine have this ticking sound on both heads.. does it affect the knocking sensor to read a knock? Well i asked around and they say naah that does not related with the drop in ign timing.

Again any idea is welcome thank you.. oh yes bare in mind that i have done general overhaul last year so all bearing are still in good condition. I believe i used king bearing.. it just that i didnt bother to fix the ticking sound on the head...

Hi zax.. so i managed to get my data log from the tunner , theres two data log stock and after tuned one. If you have free time can help to look it up if theres an issue on my data log.. see if you can spot why my ignition timing drop at high rpm.. from what i understand my ignition is dropping due to increase in engine load again im no expert in this.. i really appreciate for the help
