Hello everyone! I own a 1995 WRX with the EJ20G engine imported from Japan! I am having some trouble with rough idles, low throttle response and possible miss firing when the engine is cold, especially on more humid days. I replaced my PCV valve a couple of months ago and it seemed to have fixed the problem, but as of recently it seems to be giving me the same issues again. I can’t seem to figure out what is causing my PCV valve to clog (and what other issues it could possibly have) and if anyone had any knowledge on these older JDM engines any help would be appreciated!

The valve is a result or symptom, not the cause.

Check fuel and ignition.

Look for vac leaks, IC hoses, intake manifold gasket, boost leaks, IAT sensor, coil packs, and if I'm not mistaken you still have plug wires too. Are the plugs fouled?

Check you don't have a blocked hose from the PCV. Clean the MAF. Do a smoke test for the leaks above.

If you are finding an oil well in your PCV tubing and the above doesn't fix it do a compression test.
