Anyone started using E3 Diamondfire spark plugs on their subarus? I see horsepower tv pushing them hard on their commercials. Went to their site and they have plugs listed for my 06 wrx. Just curious to hear any reviews, not that there would be a night and day difference or anything between the OEM irridium plugs. E3 claims a little more power using less fuel which I think anyone could use with today's crazy gas prices.

Don't count on E3 spark plugs to save you money

Don't count on E3 spark plugs to save you money on gas -

This one falls into the plausible-but-unlikely category. Writer Larry Edsall recently undertook the latest iteration of a 5,000 mile annual road trip and decided to try out the E3 plugs. While E3 claims a 3-5 percent improvement in mileage, Edsall found his dipped from 20.11/19.98 the previous two years to 19.18 with the E3 plugs. He did all the usual maintenance like oil changes and tire pressures before leaving. Of course the vehicle was a year older and more worn which may have contributed to the dip. But even a fully scientific test with two or more vehicles running side by side in the same conditions (aside from the spark plugs) would probably yield a negligible difference at best.

Total BS. Spark plug choice on a boosted flat 4 is very different than in a big American V8. I'd be willing to bet there's a 0hp 0wtq increase using these plugs. Stock iridium or 1 range colder is all anyone really ever needs. Copper are also a good choice but require more maintenance since they have more frequent change intervals. Beyond that there is very little gain to be had screwing with the type of plugs themselves.
