Al has alot of experience in tuning subarus, TEC2, S-AFC, Link, and Ecutek.
Lately he's flashed a few 400whp STis in the Tri-state (NY,NJ,CT) that i know of.

Give him a ring, he was one of the pioneering guys that has contributed alot to the subaru community when i-club and nasioc were the same site.

 

he's suppose to be good. he has a special right now for the ecutek, 600 for the license and 2 hours of tuning.

let me know if you're going down. i may come down with you.

 

He emailed me saying it was 650 + 200 for tune but then i sent him his own page w/ the special so waiting to hear back.

not sure what im doing yet.

i searched here and nasioc and found nothing. one guy who seemed to hate them i PMd but he said he wouldnt get tuned there and thats it.

i need concrete reasons vs opinions.

its just like people in the KTR Vs XX threads.

Is this Big Al? Yeah... he's a ****** and not in the XX/KTR way. Just has quite a bit of history with NASIOC and even on EVOM.... and was kicked out of NASIOC IIRC.

on EVOM people seem to be ok w/ him and his abilities...

but on nasioc i didnt know his username, so only searched for the shop name w/ not much luck. i will take a look and see.

Yes he's an *******, but don't worry about it. It's just his personality and the way he comes off. Don't let that keep you from getting your car tuned there because it'll come out great! I talked to a friend of mine that got his EVO flahed by Al and he just basically said that Al thinks he's god and that he knows everything and that if you ask him a questions he'll answer you like you were a 5 year old kid who doesn't know jack shizzle.

Basically go there, tell him what you want, and leave the man alone while he works his magic.

yeah after reading over at EVOM (on teh threads that didnt get deleted) he seems liek a dick.

but i dont care about his personality as long as i can go, get flashed & tuned, and have a safe car.

although if hes as good as franz on teh ecutek and sicne franz is a nice guy ill stay local if theyre equally capable. the free custom time is whats swaying me.

i dont like his subaru bashing though. seems counter productive.

he's done quite well with the wrx/sti there's a thread of a bunch of dyno sheets that he's done and they all look excellent. for the price I would definately go with Al!

To some folks that dont know Al personally, his might appear rough around the edges.
Not sure what type of confrontation and problem you have with him, but he knows his business, blunt to the point and does his homework when it comes to tuning.
Curious if you have a personal issue or some business agreement with him that went sour.

They were business agreements that he backed out on. Now, it's personal. It would take too long to get into.

For everyone who doesn't know about Al, just search for alfriedesq on nasioc. Just be prepared to set aside quite a bit of time to read everything.
