Well either get and STI wing and mount that. Or maybe find a rivnut of a similer size as the post drill out out JB weld the riv nut in place and then screw a bolt into the spoiler.

you know if he wanted to get an sti wing, he would have to drill like 20 more holes in to his trunk right? doesnt seem very productive lol

 

I definitely want to stick with the WRX wing. The STI one is a little to big imo. Thanks for the input. I was hoping there was some magic trick for getting the actual oem bolt and getting it in there some how. Guess I'll just have to secure it somehow!

 

Well the STI wing was just one option. The one positive would be that you wouldn't have to weld over and paint the holes like you do on an 08-14 WRX trunk.

Contact a body shop see what they can do for you. I'm suggesting a rivnut only because i think it would be easier to fit in a hole rather then trying to make a regular nut fit which I am sure is also possible.

 

Yeah just not sure how to get something in the wing. I was thinking of some kind of anchor bolt then some kind of resin to seal the hole.

 

Yeah basically a rivnut would be what you could use. It sounds weird and its mostly used to add anchor point on sheet metal but instead of riveting it in you would just slip it in the hole. Also you could get something like a coupling nut and make it fit

 

Yeah I'll figure something. After all this though I don't think it's the reason for the rattle =( just drove it work and I figured if it was it I would hear it more but I don't. So I still have to find the rattle.

 

does anyone know what size these bolts are? I lost one in my trunk lid.....lol. Wanted to grab one at a hardware store today but don't have the tools to remove the bolt for comparison.
