They can't ticket you for tint if it's legal in your state. Quite a few people around here have out of state plates for that reason. That doesn't mean you wont get hassled though.


As far as IL and tint laws go, tint may very soon be legal on the fronts. The bill has already essentially been passed, but needs modification before being made law. Check out the link below.

That varies by state. In California, if you are driving on CA road then you must adhere to CA laws. That means that they can give you ticket for your tint even if your car is out of state.

Wow, at first I figured you were wrong but after researching a tiny bit you're not. I can't believe that. . . I could understand if you were a resident of the state with out of state plates, but that's just foolish. . .
