Hey guys,
I have 2013 WRX and on January 4th it died on me while driving to work. As I was shifting into fourth, it just died, it didn't jolt or cough up it just died and kept coasting. I was good on gas, I had a little less than a half left. Battery and electronics were all fine. When I attempted to start it, it would crank but never started. My car is OTS Cobb Stage 2+ and I've been on that map for about a month and a half before it happened. So I ended up pushing her home. When I got home I got a one code P1572, after spending more time researching than I have in any school project I learned that the P1572 code is for the immobilizer. There's a chip in the key that basically, when the key is in the ignition it will allow the fuel pump to feed fuel to your engine. So I went back to the car and started checking some of the electronics, (Fuses and Wiring harness) everything was fine. I took a part of the dash apart and checked if the BCM and ECM were fine. To my knowledge they seemed to be. So, I ended up getting my dad's buddy who knows his Subaru's very well to come and take a look at it. While we were messing around with the car trying to diagnose the problem we noticed that the door locks and windows were not working, which we thought was tied to a faulty BCM. What we ended up doing was switch out the BCM, Immobilizer, the whole ignition system and a new key. The parts came last night, we swapped everything out, went to start it and this time it would start and the split second it would start it would die immediately. After a few more attempts it just stopped cranking. You turn the key and nothing happens. I checked the codes again and this time I got P1578. I haven't had time to really look into it very deep, but from what I've seen so far it has something to do with the dash and the cluster meter. I'm super lost now, I have no idea what my next step should be. Anyone know what I should do? All help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Same problem here on 2011 WRX
I took out the stop light fuse, and cranked it with the brake pedal depressed and it runs for the first time in a week. Now the ABS and traction light comes on but probably because the fuse is out.??? I don't know what to do to fix this ??? any ideas
