My wife has a 2018 WRX base. When we bought the car, I had them put on a STI exhaust. She was going to trade it in for a 2021 WRX Sti when there were rumors that it would have 350hp. Well that didn't happen and I really didn't want to keep buying a new car every few years. I talked her into modifying this car. She's never done anything like this, but she is doing little things to get started. She's done most of the superficial things, but now i want to start her working on getting the HP up. She was concerned about taking the car apart, but fortunately my son has a 2003 outback and the clutch went out. I replaced the clutch in his car, so now she fells a little better.

All this is to get to the question; What mods can she do to increase HP without voiding the warranty? After the warranty, we will install the cobbs programmer and anything we can to get to 350. I read that 350 is as far as we can go safely.

Cat back, sure. Although it'll void any warranty tied to that component.

Intake, downpipe/jpipe, tuning, will all 100% get any claim on the engine and transmission denied. A performance clutch may, but why do you need one?

Also, you can't go back. Once you swap those parts and put the required tune on the vehicle everything is coming out of your pocket. Engines are expensive.

We are going to mod the car once the warranty runs out. My wife already burned out a clutch, that the warranty covered. She bought an extended warranty, so she has to wait until 70,000 miles. I was just trying to see what I could do in the mean time so that I don't have a huge chunk of cash going out at one time. she currently has 45K on the car. She only drives back and forth to work. We drive my truck every where. can anyone list what parts to get to get her to 350?
