I have to pull a fuse to get the driving lights to go out.

umm WRX 's come with daytime running lights man.

But when I pull the key they stay on.

The rear lights and side markers stay on also.

Only the headlights turn off.

What a pain to put in fuse and take out every place I stop!

Didn't the dealer give you a basic rundown of what everything did on the car before you left? I know that I asked about everything on mine before I left. Its the switch on top of the steering wheel.

 

My salesman just told me "as long as that is never red dont touch it" never really explained it to me through......

Sounds like your salesman was an idiot (no offense!) I asked about it too and my (non-commission) saleman told me that if I wanted to leave the parking lights on when the car was not on, that switch would do just that, but told me not to forget to turn it off, or better yet, just not use it at all.

 

FYI, apparently this feature is used a lot in Europe... where double parking is allowed and/or you may be parking in a poorly lit area. I've personally used it in neighborhoods that have no street lights (but not for more than a few hours).

Either way, they are useless, poorly located, make good batteries die and should be disconnected.

drivers routinely use hazards in traffic jams to warn cars behind them of impending problems. It's a good idea and we should do it here.

it operates the flux capacitor. and the traction control.

 

Man I feel like a knob. You are correct it was the steering wheel switch. I forgot about that thing, like others not sure what it is about. I had my car cleaned and they must have hit it. Thanks again, this is the right place for a quick answer. I’ll soon have more questions when my factory warranty ends.
