You do you, but with the current climate around emissions defeat devices in the North American market is this something you want to risk? You may be good 99% of the time. That 1% though, its going in dry.

Yes.

In both Canada and the US modification of any emissions equipment is illegal.

The odds you get caught vary by jurisdiction.

 

As a basic rule, pretty much any “performance” mods is illegal lol

Just unplug it. May not be able set monitors to ready for obdii emissions testing.

 

The problem is the Check Engine Light, if he simply unplug it, the CEL will pop-on, you do not want to daily a CEL because it technically trigger Limp Mode.
