Any suggestions? I heard that the BFGoodridge ones are good... any more besides the stock ones? BTW, anyone know how many miles the stock ones last before I need to replace them?
I want the best grip but at the same time a threadwear of at least 200 (as opposed to the stock 120 threadwear). Someone suggested me the BFGoodrich g-TA D or whatever they are called... anyone has this?Spectre186 said:what do you want outa the tires?
What do you mean you will "not" replace them?Arclight said:I had Pirelli P Zero Assemetricos on my 911. Pricey, but great grip and very firm sidewalls. Noisy as hell though. Figure about 12-15K miles. Michelin Pilot Sports,IMHO are overated and made in FRANCE :thumbdown . Lot a choices out there. I will not replace my OE Bridgestones when they go away.
I will not buy the same tire-yeah, I guess that didn't make sense. I'm going with the Pirelli's.thsiaoo said:What do you mean you will "not" replace them?
That depends entirely on you; your driving habits, your maintenance (check pressures regularly) and amount of use.thsiaosti said:Anyone Know How Long The Oem Tires Last Before They Are Need To Be Replaced?
Ewww, they suck, unless your only intention is autox. But there's even better for autox use. Gawd, those tires suck!wrxinfx said:How about the Falkan Azenis sports? I heard these were excellent.

I have ~18k on the OEM tires on my 04 STi and they still look and work great. Limited track use. Everyday driver.
I have gone through a set of S03's in 15k miles, but drove the WRX a little harder. For my money, the 070's are hard to beat if you live in sunshine.
Peace,

They are better then the stock tires are in the wet, and better in the cool, and better in the dry till you overheat the azenis. The only place the stock tires are better is if its hot/dry/and your on a roadcourse.Adampops said:Ive heard that Falcan Azenis' are amazing when its dry buy lose a ton of traction when it rains. If you leave your car in the garage when it rains then I believe these are the best buy!
All Season's Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S tires
Summer - Kuhmo MX's def better than Stock Sti's 070's
I have, and the OEM definitely stand up to heat cycling better. The Kumho's seem to get a little greasy after a few sessions. Can't beat the Kumho's price though. You can tear up a few of those without to much of a dent to the wallet. Also, the Kumho's get crazy loud once they start to wear, but then, that wasn't the question was it. I'd still take the OEM tires.kg21 said:as good as the kumho mx are I find it hard to believe that they grip better than re070 in the dry. Anyone driven on both tires?
