Hey everyone, I bought a 2015 wrx MT that came with a Perrin bpv and an Crawford aos a few days ago and I’ve been having issues with the acceleration and power. Basically the car just feels very dead and underpowered to the point that overtaking someone even in 1st-3rd gear is impossible unless I hit 4500 rpm. That’s the weird part, under that rpm the car is very sluggish and wether the throttles at 30% or 100% the rate of acceleration stays slow and constant. But the instant it hits 4500 rpm the car suddenly speeds up and puts me back in my seat and feels like it’s supposed to. It always happens at 4500 rpm. The car seems to build boost just fine and usually settles around 17psi when I push it, more or less depending on how I’m driving. I think I can safely rule out clutch slippage and boost leak for that symptom alone but correct me if I’m wrong. I was thinking maybe it has something to do with ignition timing or fueling issues coming from the pump/filter or the lines. I’ve cleaned out the maf and also made sure the intake filter is clean. I’ve yet to clean the map sensor and I’ll update once I do so. Also I don’t have an accessport so I can’t get any info through there. Any ideas?

I seem to be going through the same thing. Mine also a 15WRX MT but all stock. I have replaced plugs and coils and still get sluggish results until a certain RPM then Shoots out the gate like a bat out of hell. Doesn’t happen all the time either just kind of one or two days a week. Next for me is MAF cleaning and top engine treatment. I’ll keep you updated on results.
Did anyone figure out this issue? It only happens in hot weather over 80 degrees. In the cold weather you have this issue. Do we need not upgrade our intercooler? Please help. A great car like this shouldn't be driving in hot weather like this.
