Hi everyone,

While waiting for my STI order, I'm watching a s-load of videos and learning as much as I can about the EJ25 engines.

I've narrowed down the exhaust systems to Cobb, Borla and Invidia. Which one did you choose and why? I am looking for no drone, not raspy, low ohms, nice bass and something that won't upset (read: piss off) the neighbours. I really like the Cobb Titanium, aka the gentlemen's exhaust, and the SS version. I also really like the Q300 low lohms and nice tone; it really brings out the signature STI rumble.

Of course I can watch 1000 videos but it's not the same as in hearing it live. I would love to hear from your personal experience and appreciate the responses.

Cheers,
M

I opted for the Corsa.

It was loud, but not straight pipe loud. Cold starts would wake the dead, highway cruising drone was managable, getting on it heavily you couldn't speak with anyone in the car. Compared to the q300 it was louder, but not dramatically so. If you want civilized the borla may be a better option

'17 STI (w/a stock downpipe)...and after watching/listening/reading more reviews than I care to admit, I choose the Q300. Best decision ever! I enjoy driving the car even more now! I was very mindful of my experience in my '16 WRX where I had a Nameless 4' Axleback. Though it is considered a quiet exhaust in the subie world, it ended up being very drone-y and was ready to move on from it.

I feel like if you want to stay as close to the stock exhaust sound (but want a little bit more of a rumble), the Q300 is hands down the best option. Not all of us want to be heard coming down the street haha. Good luck with your decision mate!

I also recommend the Q300...for the short time we had it we loved it. It wasn't at all droney or obnoxious. Everything I've heard about titanium is that it's super loud... Borla is a great product though. The Q300 was almost too quiet for someone looking to get a little rowdy on the top end, so I imagine Borla would be a good middle of the road choice.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I'm pretty sure I'll go with the Q300 exhaust. A guy a met on a local STI facebook group is also ordering it and was recommended.

99% drone free, no unwanted attention from police and won't piss off neighbours :) Going for a sleeper, clean look (I say that now).
