Ordered a 2017 WRX limited with Subaru STI exhaust. Would like to know what to expect with this exhaust:
- More power?
- Increased exhaust note - how is it for long trips?
- Increased fuel consumption - mileage impact?

If it's the spi exhaust you'll get slightly more volume.

As others have said, no noticeable differences aside from a slight volume increase. Although some people have said that Vtek kicks in a little earlier in the power band.

One word - Drone.

It came with mine off the lot so I couldn't refuse it. The novelty will wear off within 500 miles. Especially, if you drive at all on the freeway.

It's louder. That's it. No power, no fuel mileage, etc.

Just a noise maker.

I've heard some complain of drone with the STI upgrade exhaust on the WRX. I was able to procure the STI version of the upgrade exhaust which has a resonator that its WRX version doesn't have. The result is a slightly deeper tone, but no drone. No noticeable performance changes. It's too bad you can't order a new WRX with the STI P/N of the upgrade.
