which car is better in your oppinion? i know stock for stock the WRX kills the non turbo 2.5rs, but will the 2.5RS be fast after putting on mods? im thinking of selling my wrx. i can get as much or even more than what i paid. i might go and buy a 2.5RS. i am happy with my car, but the 2.5RS seems to be lighter, more appealing to me :/,bigger engine = more torque?

im not sure what to do. im not sure i can even afford to keep paying for my WRX. what about stock 2001 2.5RS, what times do they run? 0 - 60 and 1/4 mile? i know im asking alot and im not even sure if these questions belong on this site. if you could help me out with some info or links about the 2001 style 2.5RS, that would be terific.

you might be able to get some answers here, but the best place to go would be www.i-club.com since it has a whole section on aftermarket turbos.... just go to the 'forums' section and look for 'aftermarket turbocharged' or something like that--mostly 2.5 RS there i think. check that out if you havent already, i have a feeling you could learn everything you want to know...

Let me get this straight. You own a WRX now, but you're thinking of selling it in order to buy a 2001 2.5 RS and want to spend $3000 ~ $5000 installing a turbo kit on it?

Why the heck would you want to do that? It can't be because the 2.5 RS is lighter or has more torque (which it doesn't by the way).

more low end torque, but see the thing is that i can sell my WRX for as much possibly more than what i paid. demand for them here is high. dealers cant even keep enough around for everyone. so i figure i can get very close to what i paid for it, then buy a 2.5RS for $20000 (CND) or so

Okay, but....why?

You'll be starting with a vehicle that's slower 0-60 and 1/4 mi than a Ford Escort ZX2. I know. You have the turbo now so why sell it just to buy a different one. Not to mention the hassles involved with installing a turbo on a non turbo vehicle. Plus you're loosing chassis rigidity by 150%. It's like selling a Mustang GT to buy a V6 Mustang and strapping a Vortech supercharger on it so that is might be as fast as the V8 was origionaly but without all the goodies of the V8. It doesn't make sense.

i know what your saying. but for 16000 less i can get a 2001 impreza 2.5RS. ya, i know it is slow, but when you put a turbo on it and when done correctly, will easily hang with a stock WRX. i just dont know which route to take right now

well, ive seen daily driven ones running around 5- 6 psi that will destroy a stock WRX. even a Model Year 2001 with a WRX engine will beat the WRX by about a car and a half on 1/4 mile

You could just get a motorcycle to fill your needs for something really fast. Comparing costs of going fast its always cheaper to buy a $10K bike and use it then to buy a mid $20K car and dump enough cash in it to turn a 11sec or less. Just another option. Personally I want a decently quick car that I don't have to worry about breaking down.
