Apologies if this has been hashed out elsewhere, but my google-foo has returned bupkiss...

How small a wheel can we go on a 17 WRX? I have a limited, not sure that makes much of a diff.

Wondering if we can fit a 16 inch rim or if 17 is the smallest that'll fit.

I talked to a local tire shop they said a 235/45/17 would only have 1/2 inch clearance. I'm wondering who's had some experience with this 15/16 owners or early 17 adopters.

I have an 18 wrx base model (comes with 235/45/17 from factory).

I just put my winter setup on that I got from tirerack. Sport Edition F7 wheels (17x7.5) and 225/45/17 PIRELLI WINTER SOTTOZERO 3.

Same exact tires I just bought. Found a set of 2015 stock time on craigslist cheap. Don’t get tons of snow in southern Ohio, these should fit he bill.
