Pitching Stopper Bracket Cracks or Breakage on 2015-2017 WRX
It's some possible failure of the "pitch stopper bracket" that ties the top or the engine to the firewall, thus limiting how far the drivetrain "pitches" fore/aft during acceleration and deceleration.
What I'm trying to figure out is what exactly is the failure mode?
Is it the bracket that bolts to the engine? If so, not that big of a deal, as it is just a simple stamped steel bolt-on bracket.
However, if it's the bracket welded to the firewall? That could become ugly to repair. :unhappy:
The pitch stop bracket fails. Happens a lot when you use an aftermarket pitch stop without upgrading the engine and trans mounts also. Perrin makes a brace for it, now Subaru is admitting to a failed design.
