85' TOYOTA CELICA GT

I still have this car. It can actually corner better than my WRX(STOCK). I have Ebach springs and Tokico struts on it. This baby is one of the best for drifting. On rolling starts it could actually stay even with the WRX for a little bit.

I spent a good load of cash on this baby:

Intake, headders, exhaust, camshaft, MDS, Suspension, LSD upgrade, ACT clutch, 17x7 Team Dynamic Wheels, and a turbo manifold off a toyota truck( never worked out because I couldn't find a working turbo)

Now it's my daily driver.

Like Pace I'll try to keep this thread alive...

While I haven't OWNED these cars, I've driven them... And that's the question that's being asked in the title of the thread, right? :)

Ferrari Testarossa (not that nice, felt like a kit car)
Ferarri 355 (purely sexual!)
Ferrari 550 Maranello (Wow! That's more like it...)
Land Rover 4.0 (ehhh...)
Land Rover 4.6 (more like it)
Land Rover Discovery (yuck)
Mercedes SL500 (chicks dug it! :)
A/C Cobra Kit Car (whoa...)
'70 1/2 Split Bumper Camaro/396/4.86 gears (sideways!!!)
Buick GS Stage I (sideways ++!!!)
'67 Chevy II Nova/350/12-bolt (sideways SCARY in a bad way)
1/2 ton Chevy Truck/454/TH400/4.11's/NOS (ROASTIN' tires!)
Dodge Viper RT/10 (stupid lack of traction, sounds like a truck, but FAST!!!)
Lexus ES300 (Camry anyone?)
Lexus IS300 (AT *yawn*, 5spd better) <-- Actually owned one :)
Lexus GS300 (booooring)
Lexus GS400 (Talk about luxo cruise missile!)
Lexus GS430 (more refined, not any faster)
Lexus SC400 (still a classic beauty, but not a speed demon)
Lexus SC430 (wow... Talk about pimp-factor - and it can go!)
Lexus LS400 (luxo-barge)
Lexus LS430 (ugly but PLUSH!)
Lexus LX450 (RUBBISH, buy a Landcruiser instead and save $!)
Lexus LX470 (what a beast of a truck!)
Porsche 911 Turbo (only got to move it <20 feet at<10mph) :(
GMC Syclone (Thrust!)
Modified '93 Supra TT (AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!)
Mid 90's RX-7 r1(nimble, rough ride! Ran out of steam...)
CBR900RR (whoa! Scary)
GSXR1100 (Nice)
ZX-11 (too much bike for me)

I managed to get seat time in most of these rides by working in various capacities in the automotive industry...

Dealership Technician @ Theodavies Euromotors (Range Rover, Porsche, Audi, Volvo, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Ferrari Service)
Dealership Technician & Service Consultant @ Lexus

The others were rich friends and/or generous acquaintances...

I hate to say it, but if I could have closed my eyes and made a wish to make any of those sweet machines a permanent resident of my garage it would have to be the Ferrari 355... That car was just AMAZING. Pure sex. Not the fastest, loudest, meanest, or most expensive - but just plain SILKY SEXY...

Aloha,
Richard...

P.S. If I had diplomatic immunity and didn't have to worry about getting a speeding ticket it would be hard to choose between driving the 911 Turbo, the 550 Maranello, or the Supra... But to be honest with you from the way I had a hard time holding on to the steering wheel the '93 Supra TT would have handed all the exotics their behinds on the freeway... This car isn't one of those insane powermongers either. It does 12.30's on street tires in the 1/4, but only dynoed at ~400rwhp... Nothing like those 800-1000RWHP FREAKS out there in Supra MKIV land. What a ride those things must be!

Wow, you got your paws on some pretty high end stuff. I like that list!

I wonder if anyone has driven a Hummer or even the old Yugo.

I HATE the trend toward 4 stroke bikes in motocross.

YZF 250 and 426 are for wusses. Even though i LOVe Yamaha. Real men ride 2 stroke 125's and 250's. Psychopaths ride 500's :D

My Iron:

1979 CR 250 Elsinore
1999 YZ 250 GYT (yes, I am a freak)

2001 Yamaha V-MAX (the ONE true bike of Men)
2001 Yamaha YZF - R1
1982 Yamaha Vision 550

It was one of the ONLY things I enjoyed about being a dealership wrench. I quickly changed careers (< 5 years) to computers after realizing I was a great "hobbyist" mechanic but couldn't suffer the politics of the "shop". Sigh. :-(

The only "exotics" that truly made me wish I had no conscience and would do "whatever it took" to make enough money to own one was the Ferrari 355 and the Porsche 911 turbo. The other cars - blah. And truth be told, it wasn't their staggering performance (the 355 isn't really THAT fast) it was the purely sensual design elements.

One can make a turbo 9-second CRX that would stomp all over a 911 turbo - but it's... Still a CRX. :) While the mechanical accomplishment is there - the design elements of the Porsche couldn't be duplicated for a reasonable amount of money.

Sigh... All this is moot as I'm lucky to be able to make the payment on my hot-little WRX! :)

Aloha,
Richard...

A Chevette, Mk1 Eccy, and an Imp? You must be a Brit, huh! My mom used to own a Hillman Imp when I was about 5 or 6 years old (late 70s). It grenaded one day on the motorway and the (rear mounted?) motor sprayed oil all over the car behind us. :D

Hehe.. I am actually thinking about moving to a thumper next year, although I have spent most of my life on two strokes. Why? Well, racing open-class on a 144cc machine means I spend a lot of time eating roost. A 250 stroker is not an option for me because at 5'8" and 160lbs I'm just a passenger when I attempt to pilot one of those things (have had several heavy crashes resulting in ER visits from 250 escapades).

I am looking to trade my YZ in the spring. Currently narrowed it down to:

1. YZ250F
2. Katoom 200SX
3. " 125SX, to be promptly ported and bored out to 166.

I'm open to other ideas. I'm leaning toward the 250F, although I really want to get a KTM they don't have a 250 four-stroke MX bike available yet.
