Hi, I have posted this in other forums and seem to be running out of ideas. Installed Utec software v. 4.2 downloaded base map stage 1. Installed all the parts. Opened ABC 3 turns took few runs boost felt like stock, changed my boost map to this.

Used the boost map above, there was some improvement over stock but on the top of this i opened the ABC to 4 turns now and here is the log using same boost map

Even though there was no knock when I opened these logs in " PSI Consulting Utec loger ver. 1.2" it said I had detonation in about 3 to 5 points on the log in "mod ign" column in red i have also made the note of those points here in both logs by putting [DET] next to that value that was in red, I'm not sure what that means and why the timing is pulled.

Now this is my problem even if I will open the ABC more we talking about 20 turns there don't seem to be that much increase in log, I'm sure even if would change all values in my boost map to 500 i wouldn't go pass 15psi as the most i seen so far as a MAP was 14.1 or so.

I run lot of checks, of course my boost is selected to closed loop, open fueling is off, TPS is calibrated. The factory restrictor is in place, the hoses are tight. One of the last things that was said for me to try was to disconnect the tube going from the "Y" part to the ABC which I did. I was thinking the boost was to shoot up through the roof instead the max I saw on my gauge was about 14.5 in 4th gear that is about 2 psi more then my normal stock psi i see on it. That was with utec map 0 (stock) selected.
Any ideas ?

What mods are on your car? What sort of backpressure on your is in your exhuast, as this will cause different fluctuations in boost levels, not just on UTEC but on all engine management systems.

2 things that were change on the car are the up pipe and there is forge atmosferic bov. When I had mbc and difrent cables the car was able to build more boost as needed with mbc. I put the original hoses back and put the utec ABC as per instructions. The rest is stock on the car. The really weird thing is that when the ABC tube is disconnected the car won't hit higher boost then 14.5 on the gauge in 4th gear. I'm starting to think that may be it's the hoses somehow are f.. or the FBC. Don't know anymore .....

Well with the stock exhuast system witha Stage 1 EcuTeK requires a bleed off valve to get about 16 PSI of boost. That is all that is really reliable. The UTEC bleed off valve is very similiar and the car will probably not make more then 16 PSI as it works in a similiar way. Beyond that I am going to bet that if you try a stock BOV along with the everything setup correctly you will be able to get about 16 PSI.

Suggestion is to try the stock BOV and see how that works. As I have noticed some BOV's leak a little and cause low boost problems like the one you are encountering.

i put back on the factory DV instead of that bov, no change when running my 16 psi map, even when i disconnected the tube that goes to the Utec's ABC, I'll have the laptop on the weekend will do some logging again but more things point to FBC as when I disconnected both tubes one going to FBC and the other to ABC the boost on the gauge seemed to go to about 14.5 in the 3rd gear but it was too busy on the street to fully test it. I'll be posting more soon or may be just get a diffrent wrx lol.

Put a MBC on there. One that circumvents the factory BCS and I bet you get boost out the wazoo!

I put out over 20lbs boost with a factory catback and rear cat in place. Thus I doubt your issue is the exhaust.

I don't think It's a vacuum leak as when stock the car runs boosts ok just like the stock car would. Thats why I don't get it that when it comes to start squzing more boost it gets fisty.

Mandra I have my spare MBC where should I place it on which line this is my set up with utec:

From factory "T" line goes to utec's "Y" split then one cable goes to utec's ABC and the other goes to the FBC. I guess I should place it on the line that goes to my FBC since this seems to be the problem ?

Yep you are to circumvent the factory boost controller. Also you can remove the ABC if you are not using the factory boost controller. I have never had one installed. I don't know what kind of boost controller you have but just look up MBC install and I bet you will find a bunch of posts on them. Then find one that looks like yours and you are good to go.

Note that the UTEC is then completely out of the loop as far as boost is concerned. Changing the #'s for boost do nothing.

I guess this avoids my purpose then, as I just installed Utec lol and I want it to control boost. I still may try few things.
