There is nothing wrong with a used AP other then it has to be unmarried from the car it was used prior in... Your limiting yourself to cobb's tuning format and if you plan on going past common setup your leaving a lot of power on the table that getting a custom tune done specifically for your car and not an OTS MAP...

^ not really. its perfectly fine to buy it used as long as you trust the person you're buying it from.

if they didnt unmarry it properly it's going to be useless

what scoobyrex is saying, is that you get more bang for your buck by getting a custom tune & not using the cobb ots [off the shelf] maps. they are pretty reserved and you can unleash more power by using other tuning options.

You can custom tune with the ATR and the newer AP just like OS, You are not stuck with OTS maps anymore...

It does limit you as to who can tune your car if you're using an AP. Opensource is much more widely used and it's usually cheaper to get a protune, buy a tatrix (if you choose), and download the free tuning software.

No it doesn't, You can tune your own car with the ATR tuning software if you want, or get a professional to tune your car with it...

The tatrix cable allows you to connect a laptop to the car so you can log things.

The tuner has to have, and be comfortable with, ATR software. Some tuners do not use it therfore a tatrix and opensource is more common and can be used by anyone
