Sorry for the newbie question.
I have 09 wrx which I wanted to upgrade the wheels to 18" (currently stock), do I need to upgrade the springs too?

Thanks.

Wat. Why would you need to change the springs?

Also, why do you want 18" diameter wheels?

If you had lowering springs you would might run into issues. I'd get some 17x8s as I feel this is best for a DD.

17x8 are IMO better for daily driving as Drews says as well. You can still get good wide rubber on it, still keep some good stiff sidewalled rubber, as well as keep weight down on the wheels while still having a little ride comfort. When you get larger diameter wheels, you lose some comfort and start gaining road noise. Plus, 17in tires are generally cheaper.
