For a while now I have been wanting to paint my stock alloy wheels on my 05 wrx, but I just can't decide what colour (first world problems..I know) the colour of the car is aqua blue metallic which I think is a pretty rare colour with red brake calipers, the wheels are just stock silver but I want the wheels to stand out but also tie in the whole car, would like to see what everyone thinks.
Here is a photo of my wrx

The silver looks great

I'd say bright white on the face of the rims and then color match the interior parts of the rims.

That is a good idea that I have not thought of my self but considering it will be the first time painting wheels it might be a bit to hard and time consuming. It's just a difficult colour to match anything to lol.
Wheels should be silver, black, grey, or gold maybe a mixture of two of those colors. But bright body colored wheels like those red and black ones are ghastly

I have just been doing some researching and have come across a product call plasti dip. Looks pretty straight forward but wondering if anyone has used it?
Yeah I used it on my Jeep wheels to keep the finish from being beat to death. It doesn't last very long, and tends to look bad fast. Short term it's an option.

If it's Short term or a lot of maintaining then it might not be worth the money as it seems to be a bit more expensive here in Australia than America.
That car is beautiful! I think silver rims would look fantastic on it, maybe gold hmm so many options :p
There are some cool plastidipped wheels on this site:

Personally I think black or DGM would work with that car. I have gotten to the point I hate lighter color rims because it is so hard to keep the inside of the rim and spokes clean. The DGM rims on my 2017 are great just for that reason.

I think gold would really pop with that color (cool color BTW) as well.

Thanks, yeah I love the colour of the car. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I have not seen another one like it on the road where I'm from, but I just want it to stand out just that little bit extra. Is DGM dark gun metal? I was thinking maby a metallic silver a little bit darker than the stock alloy colour with a high gloss finish?!?
And from what I've her about plasti dip on another forum it just seems like a waste of money and should just do it properly with paint.
DGM = Dark Gray Metallic.
