Hey guys.
I just got 2000 miles on my car and I raced few cars.
My turbo doesn't kick in til like 5000 RPM.
I'm at 3000 RPM and FLOORING THE CRAP out of it and it is still darn a$$ slow til like close to 5000RPM. Any clue of what is going on?
I have K&N filter, HKS BOV, and Tanabe Cat back.

Man......I have same situation.

I knew about break-in period, but I still floored it.
TOo many hondas were ticking me off.

Don't worry man, I don't think you got as bad as me.
I went over 125mph within that 1000 miles and raced at least GOOD 5-7 cars!

I regret.....but too late. :-(

have you ever had a turbo car before? i havent and i think i had the same thought as you when i got mine. i was excpecting much more kick. i think it is because the turbo comes into power with a smooth increase in power. i have noticed that mine seems to really get power around 4K, might be the cams are tuned for the high rpm. i bet a MBC would fix it.

a friend of mine has a gen1 eclipse gsx.

turbo eclipses kick hard when boost comes on, WRX's have smooth power from the factory. it may just be that you need to get used to your car. get a boost gauge and see what the turbo is really doing.

Have you ever looked at a dyno sheet for these cars? Max torque is at around 3300 rpm and max hp is around 6k rpm on a stock car. Your car sounds normal. If there is anything wrong with it, it could be a leak in your BOV area, or your K&N (if it's a panel filter) isn't sitting nicely in your air box and causing a leak there. And if you're flooring the car in second gear, expecting a huge rush, know that you're probably only making around 12 psi of boost tops in second. Some people are able to get full boost, some are not, second gear is too short to load the engine long enough to make full boost unless you take it to 6k.
