Thoughts on coilovers.....

so just bought some TSW Nurburgring wheels in a 18x9.5 +40mm for my car (2017 wrx). It desperately needs to be lowered. I was looking at Bilstien B16 (PSS10) and they seem like a good choice. Just wanted some other opinions before i really get serious about buying a coil over setup.

I'd rather not mix and match OEM parts with after market parts in terms of my suspension setup

Bilstein generally makes decent suspension components. However, I'm not familiar with this model, and I'm not seeing it available for Subaru fitment. Do you have a link by chance?

*edit.. nevermind, found them on Bilstein's website, and a review on IWSTI. Not a lot of people running them, but they seem like a decent enough affordable coilover option.

Not exactly related, but I would avoid buying anything from Subi Speed at all cost.. tons of horror stories from people in the past.
i havent heard anyhting bad about Subispeed but those coils are also on tirerack.com but it says 2012 WRX. do you think they will fit?https://www.tirerack.com/suspension...7447!&ef_id=WW_S2gAAA2n_xA80:20170926165951:s

I do not understand this logic.

If this is a base WRX, the struts are quite capable of supporting additional spring rate.
its just my preference. If i want it lower or higher I'll be able to adjust it accordingly as opposed to a fixed spring height. p

That is not really an option with either.

If the ride height is changed then the suspension must be realigned. This nullifies the point of adjustable coilovers unless you will be corner weighting.

Make sure the lock rings are drilled for a set screw or locking. They tend to loosen. Some guys buy extra lock rings to ensure they stay level.

MANY people have had their credit card/bank account info stolen from that site (they sell your private info). Most of the parts they "make" are made in China.. poorly. The parts have high failure rates, and their customer service is abysmal. Most people are never able to get in contact with the company after making their purchase, and in the off chance that someone gets a response via email it is copy and pasted from an email that was previously sent to another customer (sometimes containing private customer information). All of these issues have been well documented over the last couple years, yet for some reason people still buy stuff from them.. it really doesn't make sense considering their prices are also higher than most reputable retailers.

Struts for WRX year models prior to 2015 will not fit your car. 2002-2014 WRX use 5x100 hubs.. in 2015 they switched to 5x114, and the spacing where the strut attaches to the hub is different.
