Just another reason Subaru rocks:

"In tests that simulated a stopped car struck from behind at 32 km/h, eight combinations received a "good" rating. Volvo S40, S60 and S80, the Saab 9-2X(let's face it, it's a WRX) and 9-3, and the Jaguar S-type topped the safety list. Some of Volkswagen AG's New Beetle cars also scored well.

Sixteen seats, including the Chevrolet Malibu and the Subaru Outback, received a rating of acceptable; 19 others, such as the Ford Focus and the Mini Cooper, earned a rating of marginal.

The worst rating, poor, went to 30 other cars whose occupants appear to be most prone to neck injury in a rear-impact crash. These included the Audi A4 and S4, the BMW 3 Series, the Dodge Neon and the Jaguar X-type."

Huh. Interesting, I wouldn't expect the 3-series to be in the poor category.
Its German-"Engineered" that way to make it more likely the person who struck you is sued for causing neck related injury. The Automaker is in cahoots with the lawyers now! :rotfl:
