Can i just buy a gauge cluster on ebay for like 200 bucks and swap it into my bugeye? I know the miles wont transfer unless you find someone that can do it. I know there is a pretty in depth wiring procedure. What kind of shop would most likely do it for me? dealership? tuner shop? myself?

Here you go :)

Here's a short video of the STI cluster installed. It's becoming my favorite mod by far. It only took a day at Tacoma Speedometer, ended up being a $100 including shipping, and took 4 days from the time I shipped it, to when I had it back (their shop is only 2.5 hours north of me though).

I just need to get an OEM OAT sensor, then I can finish the air temp circuit and splice that in. Pulling the speedometer takes 5 minutes, so no problems there.
If you get a 2004 STI cluster, it's plug and play, aside from clipping the B28 wire. It takes all of 15 minutes, more if you want the outside air temp gauge to work properly and if you want to turn off the diff. temp warning light (WRXs don't have rear diff temp sensors).

Lol, thanks Michael!

OP, if you have any questions, just ask. I haven't had time to ground out the diff light and solder the voltage regulator for the air sensor yet, but it's next on the list.

GarrettKoonsman and RayfieldsWRX on here have also swapped to the STI cluster. I don't believe either have worked on the outside temp gauge, though.

Make darn sure you're getting a 2004 STI cluster, though. Swapping a 2005 is possible, but nowhere near as easy as a 2004. All of us have 2004 clusters.

so this wiring concept wouldnt work with the 04sti cluster in my bugeye? what the alternative steps to take to make it work if that the case.
