I try to shift before 2,500 and I don't accelerate fast at all...I drive like a grandma... At which RPM the turbo should be boosting in a stock wrx?

To stay out of boost:

sell WRX + Buy Chevy Aveo = no PSI and 400 miles per tank:rotfl:

Boost on a WRX spools up around 2800-3000rpms

Boost builds dependant on load. There is not a set rpm where your stock turbo is going to be in boost. Staying out of boost will not be fun, but it will yield great mileage.

You could also always buy a Cobb AP and flash the Econ map and then you won't boost:sadwave:

go easy on the gas pedal, you really don't need much throttle to get going. i shift using the suggested speeds in the manual with a little variance. manual says to shift up at 15mph-25mph-40mph-45mph (2-3-4-5) but I use 15-30-40-50 (2-3-4-5). so far I get 21-23 depending on how much I use freeways.
