but i'll be nice and answer

1) sand down your wheels
2) clean them off with dishsoap and water
3) wait for them to fully dry
4) get a few spray cans of primer and spray down your wheels
5) wait for this to fully dry
6) then spray with whatever color youre using to paint the wheels

also, to keep the spray paint/primer from getting on your tires, use index cards to stick between the wheel and tire. this will make a nice barrier between the two and protect your tires.

This is probably a dumb question. No, wait, Im positive its a dumb question.

But do you absolutely have to take the wheels off when you do this? Couldn't you just cover up the wheel well area and hope to not get paint on it?

Just trying to be lazy :)

haha I guess you could do that, but if you're really that worried about the hassle of taking them off the car, maybe you should just buy some new wheels

I would not risk that, if you get a breeze, or just some overspray on your car, you may be kicking your self for something that could have been avoided.
