Hi Everyone,
My boyfriend has a 2009 WRX and really wants a short shifter and boost gauge for xmas. I know little to nothing about his car, so any help would be appreciated! I want to make sure I get him good parts as well as what he'll need for the installation. I've read about Cobb and Kartboy shortshifters so far, but I'm not sure which way to go.

First post? Welcome to the Club! :)

Cobb no longer offers the SS. Kartboy is probably the most popular choice and nice quality. All you need to know is the year (209?) and whether it has a factory short shift kit in it.

Give either of these two vendors a call to figure it all out. Both have a great sales staff that can help you out.

I was wondering the same thing. I was looking at this one from Cobb. And I have seen the Kartboy SS but I wasn't to sure which one was the better one. There has to be more options than these two.

Kartboy's SS seems to be the most popular. That coupled with their bushing kits seem to greatly improve the feel of the shifter.

There are other options, as has been pointed out, but it seems for quality and value, the Kartboy unit just outshines the others, Kartboy is a highly respected vendor and manufacturer in the Subaru community.
