I have a 08 WRX Ej25 and my rod bearing spun about 2 months ago and I was planing on buying a brand new OEM short block from my Subaru dealer but I need little more input about if I need to buy Short block or long block when the rod bearing goes or is something you see after when you open then engine? The subie had 117k and just recently put a new turbo in march, changed clutch at 95k and timing belt at 105k so I really wanna fix it and have the car run another 100k after ,there were no after market parts only a SPT catback exhaust from my friends 09 WRX and that it, thanks for any advice in advance

Thank you yea I just want to be sure, and I will have my friends dad work on it he has worked and fixed quiet a few engines , I would like it to have if it done at a Subaru performance shop but it costs as much as the cars value so I really can't afford it
