I bought a new shift knob to install on my 2012 wrx, and have not been able to get the current knob off. I’ve been looking online to try and find this knob to see if there was something special you had to do beyond just twisting it, but haven’t been able to find this knob anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas on what knob this is/ the trick to get it off?

its only got 1 way and that is to turn it left. I assume that has not been working since its so stuck? Try getting some radiator hose and cut it so you can grip with with the hose

I’ve tried twisting it off, even using a small oil filter wrench that fit around the current knob and cranking it, but it didn’t budge, I’ll give the radiator hose a shot and see if that’ll get it off. Thanks for the suggestion.

or some idiot used Loctite Red.

Might be worth hitting it with a heat gun to see if my theory is correct.
