I have had a knock in the left rear for several years and asked about it at every oil change and was told nothing was loose, well that has changed. the left rear trailing arm mounting location on the frame has been rusted off the frame and banging on the frame. The car is unsafe to drive. Wisconsin has a state law against reparing auto frames except for small repairs and they must be disclosed at time of sale to buyer. My right rear is fine with a few coin sized spots of surface rust. Subaru has other rust problems in northern climates such as Central Wisconsin where I am located. Any comment or some one able to repair this in my area would welcomed.

I wish I knew someone local to you. It's always heartbreaking to find cancer the hardest way.

Check performance shops, or even off-road shops. Some of the off-road guys are world class metal fabricators and when you work with Jeep cherokee you get real good at repairing unibody damage.
