I've read the helpful posts on installing a backup camera, but can someone help me with understanding how to run the line through the headliner? (I have a 2009 hatchback). The other posts also say to 'drop it down along the rear pillar' --does that mean I have to remove the side panel (looks like 2 screws and a couple of popout rivets). I was hesitant to do that since it is where the side airbag is.

Any other thoughts on running the wires would be helpful, including how to fish it from the license plate light to the hatch grommet. So basically I need help figuring out how to get it from the license plate, through the hatch, into/through the headliner, and down the pillar. After that I know I can work under the door sills.

Thanks!

Hi, i just saw your post. I did not run my wire through the side panel with the airbags (similar the the guy in the video below, which i still found useful), But instead run it down the back side panel down (had to take out the 2 screws) to the lower truck area by the spare tire and to the back seat, then to the door sills.

I am still trying to figure out how to wire thru the license plate light without having to drill a hole. I tried to just squeeze it in, but seem way to tight and would eventually cute the camera wire. Let me know if you ever figured that out.
